Exciting Opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join our IT Services Department at the University of Oxford. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for the management of all aspects of Microsoft platforms, networking, and security in a heterogeneous environment.

About the Role

The Senior Systems Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, monitoring, and support of complex services running wholly or partly on Microsoft platforms. You will also contribute to or backfill for projects to which the Microsoft platform services team will be expected to lead or contribute.

About You

We are looking for an individual with proven expertise in advanced Microsoft systems administration, particularly Windows and/or Azure, along with demonstrable knowledge of configuration management and system monitoring technologies. A solid understanding of TCP/IP networks, including VPN and firewall solutions, and experience with security by design is also essential. You will have experience in IT systems design and management, with a strong grasp of scalability, resilience, and disaster recovery techniques. Excellent communication skills are necessary for presenting complex technical ideas and documentation.
