Special Educational Needs HLTA/ UQT in Birmingham

We are seeking an experienced and passionate teaching assistant to work in a special school in Moseley, South Birmingham. The role will involve working with primary pupils aged 5-11 years who have complex needs.
The ideal candidate will have at least 6 months of experience as a HLTA in a SEN Setting and hold a TEAM TEACH Certificate. A strong understanding of SEND policies and practices is essential.
This is a part-time position, working 3-4 days per week. The school offers a supportive environment with highly skilled and enthusiastic staff who work closely together to promote independence, communication, and social skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- To provide high-quality support to pupils with SEND
- To work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
- To contribute to the overall well-being and safety of pupils
Requirements:
- HLTA Status or experience as a UQT in a SEN School or an SEN Resource Base
- Minimum 6 months experience teaching within a special school
- TEAM TEACH Certificate (Preferred)
- An enhanced DBS on the update service or prepared to apply for a new one
Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum depending on experience
