Job Summary:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Branch Manager to oversee our branch operations at our Builders Merchant. You will play a vital role within the business by leading your team to ensure they provide first-class service to our customers while ensuring the smooth running and profitability of the branch. Additionally, you will be responsible for making sure day-to-day operations are conducted safely. This is a challenging yet rewarding position with many opportunities to progress within the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Operations Management:
    - Establishing efficient operational procedures to ensure the smooth running of the branch.
    - Implementing robust stock management systems to optimise inventory levels and reduce waste.
    - Ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
    - Safeguarding stock, money, and all company assets.
  2. Leadership and Team Development:
    - Leading, motivating, and developing your team to ensure a high standard of performance.
    - Providing clear communication on company plans, goals, and individual objectives.
    - Fostering a positive working environment and encouraging continuous improvement and development.
  3. Strategic Planning and Compliance:
    - Monitoring and ensuring the delivery of key KPIs for your branch.
    - Implementing health and safety protocols to ensure the safety and wellbeing of everyone involved with the business.
    - Developing and executing strategic plans to support sales growth and operational efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience as a Builders Merchant Branch Manager or similar role.
  • Relevant market and product knowledge.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Knowledge of software systems, including Kerridge K8 Trader (preferred).
  • Ability to analyse financial data and implement improvements.
  • Understanding of sales performance metrics.
  • Good decision-making skills and problem-solving abilities.
  • A degree in Business Administration or relevant field (preferred).

  • Using Kerridge K8 system: 1 year (preferred).
  • Builders merchant industry: 5 years (preferred).
