We are seeking an exceptional Consultant Psychiatrist to join our team at Cygnet Appletree, a leading mental health hospital for women near Durham.

Overview
  • Cygnet Appletree is a specialist PICU service and acute mental health service for women.

This role is based on Bramley Ward, our 15-bed acute mental health service for women. The service provides a safe and stabilising environment for individuals who are experiencing an acute episode of mental illness and require an emergency admission.

The successful candidate will be responsible for working as part of a multidisciplinary team (MDT) to provide high-quality patient care.

Responsibilities
  1. Take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT.
  2. Assess referrals & undertake mental state examinations of service users.
  3. Undertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis & treatment.
  4. Participate in ward rounds & clinical audits.
  5. Lead the implementation of risk assessment, risk management & embed clinical governance.
  6. Supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals & managers' hearings & attend hearings.
  7. Participate in the 1 in 6/7 telephone on-call rota.

Salary: Up to £160,000 per annum depending on experience.
