Job Title: Teaching Assistant for Children and Young People

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for an 11-year-old child with special needs.

About the Role:

This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a child's educational journey by offering personalized support, encouragement, and care.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to provide tailored support, both in and outside the classroom, ensuring the child can engage fully with the curriculum.

You will assist with the child's social, emotional, and learning needs, fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Implement strategies recommended by the school's SENCo and other specialists to ensure the child's progress and well-being.

Encourage independence while providing guidance as needed to ensure the child's progress and well-being.

Help manage transitions, daily routines, and sensory needs.

Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs (SEND) is desirable but not essential.
  • You can build positive relationships with the child, teaching staff, and parents.
  • You can think on your feet and adapt to the child's changing needs throughout the day.
  • You'll work as part of a collaborative team to ensure the best outcomes for the child.
