Job Title: Head Chef Chinese Cuisine

Welcome to Goldstar Chefs, a leading recruitment agency for the UK's hospitality industry. We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Chef to join our client's team in Glasgow City Centre.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of leading a kitchen team and delivering high-quality Chinese cuisine. They will be responsible for managing kitchen operations, supervising staff, and maintaining the highest standards of food safety and hygiene.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Chinese cuisine, with a minimum of 3 years' experience as a Head Chef. They will also have excellent leadership and communication skills, as well as the ability to work well under pressure.

The role offers a competitive salary package, including a gross OTE salary of circa £50,000, plus benefits and entitlements such as 28 days' paid holiday, incentives, and an employer's workplace pension.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of chefs in the preparation and presentation of high-quality Chinese cuisine
  • Manage kitchen operations, including purchasing and ordering of supplies, food costing, and GP
  • Supervise and train staff to ensure high standards of food safety and hygiene
  • Develop and implement menus, recipes, and cooking techniques to ensure consistency and quality
  • Monitor and control kitchen costs, including food, labor, and overheads
Requirements:
  • Eligibility to live and work in the UK
  • Minimum 3 years' experience as a Head Chef in a Chinese restaurant
  • Strong background in Chinese cuisine, with a focus on high-quality ingredients and cooking techniques
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Relevant health and safety credentials, including HACCP protocols
  • Computer literacy, with experience of kitchen management software
