About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Teacher to join our team at Phoenix Learning & Care Group. As an English Specialist Teacher, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality education to our students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and deliver engaging English lessons to students with varying learning needs, focusing on functional English skills.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider teaching team to embed English into every learner's bespoke curriculum.
  • Monitor and record progress, both academically and against EHCP outcomes, to ensure students receive the best possible support.
  • Provide inspirational learning opportunities to students, whether in the classroom or out in the community, to help them achieve their learning goals.
  • Work closely with Learning Support Assistants to direct them in effectively supporting students.
  • Be adaptable in your teaching style to meet the diverse needs of students, who may focus on becoming more independent or securing employment.
  • Recognize when a student's progress is at risk and identify areas for improvement, demonstrating a commitment to seeking to understand each young person and their needs.

Requirements:

  • Patient, compassionate, and resilient, with the ability to work with students who may have challenging behaviors and communication needs.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to contribute to a range of resources and share information effectively with students, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to be involved in EHCPs and shape a curriculum based on individual target outcomes.
  • Flexibility and adaptability, with the ability to deal with change and unexpected situations.
  • A genuine interest in a career focused on the education of people with a wide range of needs.
