About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher to join our team at Phoenix Learning & Care Group. As a SEND Teacher, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality education to neurodiverse young adults, aged 16-25.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teaching and Learning: Lead classroom activities, plan, teach, and assess learning, particularly with a focus on pathways to adulthood and pastoral support.
  • Progress Monitoring: Monitor and record progress, both academically and against EHCP outcomes, to ensure learners reach their full potential.
  • Support and Guidance: Work closely with learners, keeping them engaged, motivated, and inspired to reach their goals, providing inspirational learning opportunities in the classroom or community.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work closely with Learning Support Assistants to direct them in effectively supporting learners, and be adaptable in your teaching style to meet individual learner needs.
  • Curriculum Development: Develop a curriculum bespoke to each individual learner, recognizing their unique needs and goals.
Requirements
  • Patience and Compassion: Demonstrate patience, compassion, and resilience when working with neurodiverse learners who may have varying learning behaviors and communication needs.
  • Effective Communication: Possess great communication skills to interact with learners, parents, and other stakeholders, contributing to a range of resources and sharing information effectively.
  • EHCP and Curriculum Development: Be involved in EHCPs and shape a curriculum based on individual target outcomes, demonstrating a genuine interest in a career focused on the education of people with diverse needs.
  • Flexibility and Adaptability: Be flexible and adaptable, comfortable dealing with change and unexpected situations.
