Job Title: Data Protection Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our team at The Emerald Group Ltd, Search and Selection. As a key member of our Data Security Compliance Team, you will play a critical role in ensuring our organization's compliance with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and other relevant data protection laws.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and coordinate the end-to-end process of fulfilling data subject requests under the UK GDPR, including subject access requests and erasure requests.
  • Develop and maintain internal documentation and communications regarding the data subject request process to ensure efficient and cost-effective handling of requests.
  • Collaborate with team members to design and implement tools and processes for data subject requests, such as the OneTrust Privacy Rights Automation module.
  • Contribute to the development and execution of data protection and data security training, awareness campaigns, and eLearning training rollouts.
  • Support the Data Protection Officer (DPO) in ensuring the importance of data security compliance is communicated across the organization.
  • Provide guidance and advice on UK data protection law to internal and external stakeholders.
Requirements:
  • Strong knowledge and experience of current and upcoming UK data protection law, including the UK GDPR, Data Protection Act 2018, and Privacy and Electronic Communication Regulations (PECR).
  • One or more recognized data protection qualifications.
  • Extensive experience of fulfilling data subject requests under the UK GDPR.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work with minimum supervision and collaboratively with others to achieve team objectives.
