SEND Teaching Assistant Opportunity

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a primary school in Southwark with an Autism Provision (ASC Provision) to support students with SEND. As a teaching assistant, you will work within a classroom with a SEN Teacher and another Teaching Assistant to support students with academic and personal development. The students work around KS1 level, with lessons consisting of play-based activities, and you will assist with these activities.

The school offers a unique opportunity to learn and grow with a friendly faculty, amazing facilities, and the potential to work 1:1 with a child with autism. The school will take you on as a permanent member of staff after 2 terms, allowing for further growth and career progression.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support students with SEND in a classroom setting.
  • Assist with play-based activities and lessons.
  • Work with a SEN Teacher and another Teaching Assistant to support student development.
  • Potentially work 1:1 with a child with autism.

The school is an amazing place with a friendly faculty, amazing facilities, and opportunities to learn and grow. The provision uses Makaton and PECs, and you will have the opportunity to learn these alongside some basic BSL.
