Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Radio Systems Engineer to join our Managed Solutions team at NEC Software Solutions. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our radio networks, ensuring seamless communication and data transmission.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide customer support to end users to troubleshoot and resolve radio-related issues
  • Offer 2nd line technical support to field-based engineers for radio faults and maintenance
  • Contribute to the development, construction, maintenance, and optimization of radio networks
  • Install, configure, and test radio network equipment and software components
  • Perform repairs of various handheld and rack-mounted radio equipment
  • Attend customer sites to perform site surveys, system maintenance, and assist with fault finding/repair or project work as necessary
  • Participate in out-of-hours telephone support as part of a rota
Requirements
  • 2nd line radio repair experience, including maintenance and fault resolution
  • Experience with antenna, PMR installation, and decommissioning
  • Knowledge of Tetra, microwave, and DMR systems, including cell enhancement and repeater systems
  • Personal and on-site health and safety awareness
  • Liaison with and coordination of both client and 3rd party contractors
  • Good understanding of Microsoft Windows and Unix-based systems
  • General awareness of RF and electronic test equipment
  • Understanding of IP networks/LAN

  • Candidates must be able to demonstrate a pre-existing right to work and travel within the UK. Documentary evidence will be required.
