Flood Risk Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Flood Risk Consultant to join our Water and Environment North team at Waterman Aspen. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing expert advice on flood risk management and planning standards.
As a Flood Risk Consultant, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects for our clients, including developing business cases for flood risk management schemes and securing funding through the Flood Defence Grant in Aid (FDGiA) programme.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement flood risk management strategies for clients
- Conduct hydraulic modelling and drainage modelling using software such as Flood Modeller TUFLOW and MicroDrainage
- Prepare and submit planning applications and reports to local authorities and the Environment Agency
- Work with clients to identify and mitigate flood risk
- Provide expert advice on flood risk management and planning standards
- Relevant degree qualification in Civil Engineering, geography or equivalent
- Chartered Member or working towards chartered membership of a professional institution such as CIWEM, ICE, APM, etc.
- Technical experience in UK flood risk legislation and planning standards
- Experience in developing business cases for flood risk management schemes with the aim to secure FDGiA funding
- Knowledge of hydraulic modelling and drainage modelling software
- Experience working with public sectors such as local authorities and the Environment Agency
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
