About the Role: We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our team as an Emergency Duty Social Worker/AMHP. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting urgent child protection investigations, making immediate decisions to safeguard children, and preparing and submitting court applications. You will also provide crisis intervention and support to families in need, working closely with police, health, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated response. Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct urgent child protection investigations and risk assessments.
  • Making immediate decisions to safeguard children, including placing them in emergency care.
  • Prepare and submit urgent court applications.
  • Represent the Council in court proceedings to protect children and vulnerable adults.
Requirements: A qualified social worker with a minimum of 2 years' post-qualification experience in child protection or mental health, approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP) qualification, strong assessment and decision-making skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
