About the Role

As a Child Protection Specialist with our organisation, you will play a pivotal role in supporting vulnerable children and families across Wiltshire.

The estimated salary for this position is £33,000 - £48,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Main Responsibilities
  • To be the primary worker with case responsibility for children in need, children in need of protection, and children looked after – depending upon the function of the dedicated team.
  • To interpret and implement statutory duties and departmental policy and procedures in the provision of services to children and young people.
  • To conduct enquiries and assess the needs and risks to vulnerable children and young people in a timely manner, giving due consideration to their wishes and views.
  • To take action to assess and minimise concerns or risks to children/young people in accordance with assessment frameworks, child protection procedures, and looked-after children legislation and procedures.
Requirements

You should have a minimum two years' safeguarding experience and an in-depth knowledge of the Children Act 1989 and the Children Act 2004. A Social Work qualification and registration with Social Work England are also essential.
