About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Clinical Research Nurse Practitioner. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to the delivery of high-quality healthcare services in a rural and remote setting.

The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of research infrastructure, promoting patient recruitment, education, and monitoring of trial patients, as well as collecting and documenting accurate data.

This is a fixed-term post until March 2026, providing backfill for an internal secondment. The ideal candidate will have a strong motivation to work within the field of clinical research, with a background in nursing, midwifery, or allied healthcare professions.

The salary for this position ranges from £37,338 to £44,962 per annum, pro rata, reflecting the trust's commitment to offering competitive compensation packages to its employees.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Recruit, educate, and monitor trial patients, ensuring accurate data collection and documentation.
  2. Collaborate with local clinicians, research teams, and managers to develop and maintain research infrastructure, promoting patient recruitment and education.
  3. Provide research support and information to staff, patients, volunteers, and relatives as needed.
Skills and Qualifications
  • A registered nurse, midwife, or allied healthcare professional or a degree in biological, biomedical, or related health sciences subject.
  • Continuing professional and academic development evidenced by a portfolio.
  • Understanding of ethics, consent processes, and R&D legislation in clinical research.
  • Experience in working with patients in clinical research.
  • Knowledge of changing trends in healthcare provision and clinical research.
  • Meticulous and accurate in data collection.
  • Competent in Microsoft Office, email, database, and NHS IT applications.
  • Advanced organisational skills, including planning and coordinating multidisciplinary activities associated with research study management.
  • Report writing and presentation skills.
