Visitor Experience Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Visitor Services Manager to join our team at Castle Kennedy Gardens, a 4* Visitor Attraction in southwest Scotland. As the face of Stair Estates, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional visitor experiences, ensuring the efficient and profitable running of our Shop, Plant Centre, and Tea Room.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage a small team of staff, focusing on performance management, training needs, and potential development.
- Day-to-day management of the Shop, Tea Room, and Plant Centre, including stock management, till operations, and generating weekly reports.
- Strategic and creative management of the gift shop and tearoom, incorporating innovative ideas and current trends in catering.
- Develop and implement action plans based on customer feedback, mystery visitor audits, and Visit Scotland evaluations.
- Collaborate with internal and external marketing support to assist with the annual marketing programme.
- Assist with managing the visitor experience for individual and group visits, including regular monitoring of customer feedback and developing suitable action plans.
Requirements:
- Experience in retail and visitor services sectors, ideally within a Visitor Attraction, Hospitality, Tourism, or similar operation.
- Proven supervisory and motivating skills.
- Strong IT skills, including office management, report generation, and stock takes.
- Excellent written communication, copywriting, and proof-reading skills.
- A good understanding of public expectations of a garden attraction.
- An appreciation of marketing, promotion, and the influence of social media.
- An enjoyment of rural life and working on an Estate.
- Full driver's license required.
Salary: up to £40k dependent on skills and experience, plus company benefits. Accommodation available in a two-bedroom cottage with garden at a reasonable rate. Relocation candidates will be offered this property or another rent-free for the first three months.
