Your Responsibilities
In this role as Lead Engineer - Build & Support, you'll join our esteemed Vehicle Engineering team, where you'll play a critical role in the convergence of autonomy software and vehicle hardware. Key responsibilities include:
- Guiding technical direction and mentoring engineers involved in designing and maintaining autonomous vehicles.
- Overseeing system integration, ensuring flawless execution, peak performance, and strict quality assurance protocols.
- Leading the team in physically constructing autonomous vehicles, encompassing mechanical, electrical, and sensor system installations.
- Identifying and resolving intricate technical issues associated with autonomous vehicle systems, CAN bus architecture, and Drive By Wire systems.
- Improving the build and support process, optimizing efficiency, dependability, and safety.
- Collaborating closely with interdepartmental teams, including design, integration, Oxa-Driver, and controls engineers.
- Ensuring stringent compliance with safety standards and applicable regulations.
- Maintaining accurate vehicle build documentation, updating the Bill of Materials (BOM), and determining End-of-Life (EOL) engineering approval.
Necessary Qualifications
To excel in this position, you'll need:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or a related discipline.
- Significant experience in the autonomous vehicle industry, robotics, or Motorsport, with a track record of delivering complex projects successfully.
- Deep understanding of autonomous vehicle hardware and software systems, encompassing sensors, actuators, and control systems.
- Effective leadership skills, including guiding and motivating teams, providing guidance, and fostering a collaborative environment.
- Superior problem-solving skills, capable of identifying and resolving complex technical issues.
- Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, facilitating seamless collaboration with diverse teams, suppliers, partners, and customers.
Salary and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary, pegged to the market and reviewed annually. Estimated annual salary: £90,000 - £120,000 (dependent on experience). Additional benefits include company share options, flexible work arrangements, comprehensive core benefits, a flexible benefits fund, and a salary exchange pension plan.
