Job Title: Senior Software Engineer - Autonomous Vehicle Expert

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Software Engineer to join our Planning Team, where you will be responsible for designing, implementing, testing, and deploying algorithms that realize the desired behaviors of our autonomous vehicles. As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work closely with our Decision Making and Controls teams to plan and execute maneuvers in a smooth, comfortable, and precise manner.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement, test, and deploy algorithms for autonomous vehicle trajectory planning
  • Collaborate with the Decision Making team to transcribe nuanced maneuvers in complex on- and off-road environments into generalized trajectory planning problems
  • Work with the Controls team to ensure smooth, comfortable, and precise maneuver execution for on- and off-road applications
  • Develop high-quality functionality and APIs that allow the Planner functionality to be used as a building block for on-vehicle capabilities
  • Contribute to the development of metrics and tools to measure and benchmark the performance of planners deployed on various AV platforms
Requirements
  • PhD in a related field (Mech Eng, Aerospace, Comp Science, Robotics, Mechatronics) with 2+ years of professional experience
  • MS in a related field (Mech Eng, Aerospace, Comp Science, Robotics, Mechatronics) with 4+ years of professional experience
  • Extensive hands-on experience in optimization-based trajectory planning
  • Experience with sampling-based trajectory planning approaches
  • Experience with trajectory planning problem formulation and problem transcription
