Oxa Autonomy: A Leader in Autonomous Technology

We are seeking an exceptional Senior Engineer to join our Scene Maker team, a pivotal group within our Localisation & Mapping stream. Our team is responsible for generating a semantic understanding of the vehicle's local environment, enabling sound decision making.

About the Role:

As a Senior Engineer, you will design, develop, and deliver semantic understanding software, systems, products, and tooling. You will collaborate with the team to discuss high-level design decisions, prototype and implement algorithms, and work cross-functionally to deliver new features.

Responsibilities:

  • Design and develop semantic understanding software, systems, products, and tooling.
  • Discuss high-level design decisions with the team.
  • Prototype and implement algorithms for improving semantic understanding systems.
  • Work cross-functionally to coordinate with other teams to deliver new features.
  • Develop and test our local scene API, used by multiple other systems.
  • Perform performance analysis and optimisation of software to meet real-time constraints.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience and excellence in algorithms development for robotics, especially for semantic understanding and mapping.
  • Excellent software development skills for production systems, including testing, safety, and performance.
  • Software development experience and knowledge of C++11/14/17.
  • Working knowledge of Python (Numpy, Scipy, Jupyter Notebooks, etc.).
  • A measured, scientific approach to building complex engineering systems.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to understand and debug complex system interactions across a large codebase.
  • Experience working with and analysing map data, particularly formats such as OpenDRIVE.
  • PhD or Master's degree in engineering or computer science.
