About the Role

The Behaviour Mentor will work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to develop and implement strategies to support a Year 4 child with autism. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a positive impact on a child's life and help them achieve their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Developing Individualised Plans: Create and implement individualised strategies to support the child's learning and behaviour.
  2. Providing 1:1 Support: Provide tailored 1:1 support to the child, helping them access the curriculum and foster their social and emotional development.
  3. Collaborating with Professionals: Work collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to ensure the child receives comprehensive support.
  4. Monitoring Progress: Regularly monitor and track progress, adapting strategies as needed to meet the child's evolving needs.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience working with children with autism and managing challenging behaviour in an educational setting.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with autism strategies, de-escalation techniques, and behaviour management approaches.
  • Commitment: A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs and a proactive, problem-solving attitude.
  • Qualifications: Relevant qualifications in education, special needs, or behavioural support are desirable but not essential.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £80-£110 per day, which equates to £400-£550 per week. In addition to a competitive salary, we offer ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
