About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior PHP Developer to join our team at NewDay, a leading FinTech company. As a key member of our development team, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Crafting Secure and Efficient Code
    • Design, develop, and maintain robust, scalable, and secure PHP applications using the Laravel framework.
    • Ensure that all code is well-documented, follows best practices, and meets industry standards.
  • Leading Release Management
    • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software releases to ensure timely and successful deployment.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and prioritize features, and ensure that they meet business requirements.
  • Providing Second-Line Production Support
    • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for production issues, ensuring minimal downtime and maximum uptime.
    • Work closely with the development team to resolve issues and implement fixes.
  • Mentoring and Knowledge Sharing
    • Mentor junior developers, sharing knowledge and expertise to foster collective growth and development.
    • Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and suggestions for improvement.
  • Optimizing Core Products and Databases
    • Optimize and improve the performance of core products and databases to ensure seamless functionality and peak performance.
    • Collaborate with the development team to identify areas for improvement and implement changes.
  • Adhering to Industry Best Practices
    • Ensure that all development activities adhere to industry best practices, including coding standards, testing, and deployment.
    • Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, trends, and industry developments.
Requirements
  • Technical Expertise
    • Deep knowledge of PHP, Laravel, and related technologies.
    • Experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AJAX, and other web development technologies.
    • Understanding of relational databases, including MySQL and MariaDB.
  • Soft Skills
    • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
