Overview

We are seeking a seasoned leader to spearhead our chemistry efforts and drive innovation in the field of protein therapeutics. As Senior Director of Chemistry, you will oversee the development of novel protein-based medicines and lead a team of scientists in designing and executing cutting-edge research projects.

Your primary responsibility will be to define and execute the chemistry strategy for our small molecule pipeline targeting disordered proteins. This includes building and maintaining a collaborative environment that fosters creativity, motivation, and success among team members.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the chemistry department and develop a comprehensive strategy for our small molecule portfolio.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with cross-functional teams, including biology, research informatics, and executive leadership.
  • Develop and execute hiring plans to build a high-performing team of chemists and scientists.
  • Provide scientific leadership and guidance to program team leaders and ensure alignment with overall company goals.
  • Prepare and present scientific progress, strategies, plans, resources, assumptions, risks, and data to internal stakeholders and external partners.
  • Collaborate with the Research Informatics team to design and implement effective database management systems.
Requirements
  • A Ph.D. in synthetic, medicinal, or computational chemistry, with 10+ years of industry experience and a proven track record of leadership.
  • Strong expertise in drug discovery, particularly in cancer biology, with a background in biophysical techniques and protein modeling approaches.
  • Breadth and depth in multiple therapeutic areas and technologies, with fluency in spoken and written English.
