History Curriculum Leader

We are seeking a History Curriculum Leader to join our team at the Wayman Learning Trust, a leading educational organization dedicated to providing exceptional education.
As the History Curriculum Leader, you will have the exciting role of developing and implementing an engaging and rigorous History curriculum, in line with national standards and the school's educational vision. You will work closely with teachers to provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities, ensuring that students develop a deep understanding and genuine appreciation for history.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement an engaging and rigorous History curriculum, in line with national standards and the school's educational vision
- Provide guidance, support, and professional development opportunities for History teachers
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the History department, implementing improvement strategies
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment where students feel inspired, challenged, and supported
- Maintain strong relationships with students, parents, and stakeholders, keeping them informed of students' progress and achievements
- Stay updated with the latest developments in history education, incorporating innovative teaching approaches and resources
Requirements:
- A degree in History or a related field
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and preferably a postgraduate qualification in education or leadership
- Proven experience as a History teacher, with a track record of delivering excellent results
- Leadership experience, ideally as a Head of Department or in a similar leadership role
- Thorough knowledge and understanding of the history curriculum and assessment requirements
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders
- Passion for history education and a commitment to enhancing students' understanding and appreciation of the subject
- Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working in a school setting, preferably in a similar educational environment
Estimated Salary: £50,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
The location of this position is Haringey.
