Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Community Engagement Coordinator to join our team at All Saints Church Wokingham. The successful candidate will be responsible for promoting and developing the aims of our community hub, recruiting and managing volunteers, and fostering collaboration across community user groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- To develop and implement strategies to promote the community hub and engage with local groups and volunteers.
- To recruit, train, and manage a team of volunteers to support the delivery of community programs and events.
- To build and maintain relationships with community groups, stakeholders, and partners to ensure effective collaboration and communication.
- To identify and develop opportunities for community engagement and outreach, including partnerships with local organizations and businesses.
- To provide administrative support for community programs and events, including coordination of logistics and resources.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in community engagement, volunteer management, and program development.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and partnership-building.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- Knowledge of community development principles and practices, with a focus on social inclusion and community empowerment.
Working Arrangements:
This is a part-time position, with 20-25 hours per week. The successful candidate will be required to work occasional evenings and weekends, with some home-based working possible. The contract is for a fixed term of 2 years.
Location:
The successful candidate will be based at All Saints Church Wokingham, with some travel required to community events and meetings.
