Job Responsibilities



  • Clerical Duties

    • Answer telephones and relay messages and enquiries in a timely manner to nurse, doctors, and patients.
    • Maintain and photocopy records, prepare forms, and make appointments as requested.
    • Organise transport arrangements and ensure accurate and up-to-date information.

  • Communication and Key Working Relationships

    • Communicate effectively with all members of the multi-disciplinary team regarding patient care.
    • Treat patients, relatives, carers, and colleagues with respect and professionalism at all times.
    • Assist with the timely investigation and resolution of complaints and PALS enquiries.

  • Planning and Organisational Duties

    • Use initiative to promote new ideas and improve service in consultation with the departmental manager and team.
    • Plan and organise own day-to-day activities to achieve duties specified and meet departmental requirements.

  • Responsibility for Finance

    • Assist the departmental manager and deputy manager to ensure the maintenance of cost-effective use of stock levels within your sphere of responsibility.
    • Be aware of resources and deliver high-quality, cost-effective care.

Person Specification



  • Essential

    • Speak English to an appropriate standard with clear structured sentences and vocabulary.
    • Flexible, hard-working individual with good communication and organisation skills.
    • Ability to work as part of a team or individually.
    • Experience working within an office environment/hospital setting.
    • Basic numeracy & literacy qualifications (or equivalent experience).

Estimated Salary: £25,000 - £30,000 per annum


About this role


This is a permanent part-time post (15 hours) to be worked Monday to Sunday. The ideal candidate will possess excellent IT skills, a good standard of general education, and be well-organised, flexible, and able to maintain confidentiality at all times.
