Milton Keynes, Milton Keynes, United Kingdom CNWL Full time
About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Therapy Practitioner to join our team at CNWL. The successful candidate will work with men in prison presenting with complex and challenging needs who attend the Mental Health Day Unit.

As an occupational therapist, you will be responsible for conducting specialist, culturally appropriate, evidence-based occupational therapy assessments for individuals within the prison setting. This will involve applying evidenced-based sensory assessments to determine sensory needs of service users and facilitating sensory regulation interventions for service users.

You will also be responsible for providing sensory awareness training to clinical and operational staff to develop knowledge and understanding of sensory needs within HMP Woodhill. This role requires a high level of clinical knowledge and skills, including the ability to apply clinical reasoning skills and select and use validated standardised assessment tools routinely and in practice. You will need to have excellent communication skills and form positive therapeutic relationships using warmth and empathy which enable service user empowerment.

We offer a competitive salary of £46,148 - £52,809 per annum (pro rata if P/T) and a range of benefits including access to professional development opportunities and a supportive work environment.
