Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced HR Specialist to join our team at Asset Finance International Limited. As an HR Specialist, you will play a key role in providing a comprehensive and professional HR service to all staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment and Onboarding:
    • Support the HR team with recruitment activities, including candidate sourcing, arranging interviews, and data retention.
    • Complete pre-employment and reference checks for new staff, and ongoing monitoring of right to work checks.
    • Prepare contracts of employment and offer letters.
  • Employee Relations:
    • Support with the disciplinary process, including preparation of investigation paperwork.
    • Attend investigation meetings, acting as notetaker and supporting both managers and employees with guidance, where appropriate.
    • Arrange welfare visits and liaise with medical practitioners where applicable.
    • Provide guidance in line with company policies and procedures to the management team.
  • General Administration and Regulatory Reporting:
    • Update procedures and processes to ensure compliance with UK legislative changes.
    • Provide development of the HR Database to enable the production of management information.
    • General administration for regulatory reporting, first-level controls, and SM&CR.
    • Proactively engage and manage relationships with existing suppliers and onboard new suppliers.
    • Complete routine and ad-hoc projects and initiatives to support departmental and organisational objectives.
    • Support the roll-out of new and updated policies and procedures.
    • Monitor staff wellbeing, attendance, and productivity, requesting additional documentation as required.
    • Support the HR team with the arrangement of training activities.
    • Payroll:
      • Assist in the administration of payroll information for monthly payroll, including fuel card deductions, overtime, starters, leavers, personal detail changes, contractual changes, bonus payments, and holiday pay.

Requirements:

  • Ability to listen and be approachable to all staff, treating queries and staff with respect.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to demonstrate confidentiality in dealing with all issues of business, especially when handling sensitive situations and information.
  • Self-motivated, organised, and flexible, with the ability to meet competing demands, manage their own workload, and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
  • A proactive team player with excellent attention to detail and a solution-driven mindset.

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Good generalist HR skills gained in a fast-paced commercial or finance organisation.
  • CIPD membership preferred.
  • Computer literate, with Microsoft Excel to an advanced level, and familiarity with Iris Cascade, Concur, and ADP would be advantageous.
  • Previous HR experience, including payroll, health and safety, HR systems and databases, employee relations, and recruitment and selection.
