About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Underwriter to join our Hull team in London. As a key member of our underwriting team, you will play a critical role in managing the profitability of our book, underwriting and processing new business, renewals, and midterm adjustments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the underwriting of a particular Line of Business, ensuring the overall profitability, growth, and retention of the Line of Business.
  • Ensure that business is written in accordance with the Company's policies, procedures, and controls, adhering to Lloyds Underwriting Management Standards.
  • Support the development of assigned Line of Business, researching and identifying target business, competitor information, industry, and economic factors.
  • Utilize appropriate systems to accurately enter quotes, risks, and endorsements, ensuring correct management, statistical, and regulatory reporting.
  • Prepare analysis and gather data to support the professional execution of corporate/business underwriting policies/standards.
  • Work closely with other business functions to optimize resource utilization.
  • Monitor Line of Business results, making recommendations for corrective action as necessary.
  • Promote Travelers' Line of Business, distribution strategy, and philosophy, providing guidance on the Company's underwriting philosophy, procedures, and requirements.
  • Provide guidance, mentoring, and coaching as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Thorough underwriting experience in the Lloyd's and/or company market required.
  • ACII qualification preferred.
