About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and ambitious Psychology graduate to join our team as a Teaching Assistant in SEND schools in Birmingham. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with children and young adults with varying learning abilities and special educational needs, providing individualized support and guidance to help them reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work one-to-one with children and young adults with SEN and behavioral difficulties
  • Provide support and guidance to pupils with special educational needs
  • Build rapport with children, supporting their social and behavioral needs, and acting as a mentor
  • Collaborate with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized education plans
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
Requirements
  • Good knowledge of different forms of SEN
  • Previous experience working in primary schools
  • DBS clearance (can be obtained through Prospero Teaching)
  • Ability to build strong relationships with children, teachers, and other support staff
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
