Join our company as an Underwriting Team Leader, providing high-level decisions and advice to drive Underwriting strategy in the Renewals team. You will be responsible for managing the day-to-day activities and performance of the support team.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced professional to join our expanding Group as an Underwriting Team Leader in our Brighton office. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your career and become an integral part of our inclusive, purpose-led organisation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the Renewals team to deliver on team and individual objectives, ensuring sustainable profitable growth and retention of business in accordance with Underwriting strategy and the Business Plan.
  • Contribute to monitoring and reviewing systems and processes, and support the implementation of initiatives to improve team capability and performance.
  • Plan, prioritise and manage individual and team workflow effectively to deliver outstanding service.
  • Set and monitor individual and team targets on an annual, weekly and daily basis to maximise team performance and meet objectives.
  • Manage team performance in line with Underwriting capability framework, supporting team members to identify and address development needs, and ensuring appropriate stretch.
  • Deal effectively with escalations within the team, working with other underwriting teams where relevant.
  • Ensure that appropriate risk management frameworks are embedded within the team.
  • Identify and resolve all escalated customer complaints in line with regulatory/company guidelines.
  • Provide managerial support by acting flexibly across the areas of the business, providing customer support.
  • Own caseload of underwriting work to undertake, which may fluctuate with team requirements.
  • Provide project support as required.
Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a range of benefits, including:
