**Durham County Council: A Commitment to Care Experienced Young People**

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Adult Mentor to join our team. This role requires a unique blend of emotional intelligence, communication skills, and a genuine desire to support young people in care.

**Estimated Salary:** £20,000 - £25,000 per annum (dependent on experience)

**Job Responsibilities:**

The successful candidate will engage with children and young people who are 'in care', providing guidance and support to help them navigate challenges and achieve stability in their lives.

**Key Requirements:**

  1. You must be over 18 years old and able to commit to regular sessions.
  2. You must be independent of Social Services and not employed by Durham County Council or hold any elected local council positions.
  3. You must have experienced care yourself, enabling you to connect with and support those in similar situations.
  4. Your personal qualities will be just as important as your life experiences – we're looking for someone motivated, aspirational, and committed to helping young people achieve their full potential.
