Youth Development Support Worker

About the Role:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Development Support Worker to join our dynamic team working with a secondary-aged student in an alternative education provision.

The student requires additional support throughout their final year of study to ensure a positive and successful educational experience.

This role involves working closely with the student to provide tailored academic and emotional support, monitor their behaviour, and support their mental health and wellbeing.

You will play a key role in helping the student manage their learning environment and achieve their personal and academic goals by providing structured, consistent, and empathetic guidance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support throughout the school day.
  • Assist with academic tasks and support learning in various subjects.
  • Monitor and support the student's behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Support mental health and wellbeing, promoting emotional resilience and coping strategies.

Required Skills and Qualities:

  • Experience working with young people, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), behavioural challenges, or mental health needs.
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach to supporting students.
  • Understanding of alternative education provisions and how they support students' learning and personal development.
