Youth Justice Worker vacancy in the East Midlands.

Working in partnership with local authority children’s services across the UK, Innovate CYPS, is part of Sanctuary Personnel. Innovate Services work in partnership with local authorities across the UK to identify better, more efficient ways of delivering children’s social work, children’s residential, and foster carer services by externally supporting a council’s children’s services department.

**About the role**:

- To safeguard young people through collaborative working with external agencies and emergency services and compliance with local authority safeguarding procedures.
- To work closely with the local authorities to reduce young people’s offending behaviour and support them to develop their confidence and self-esteem by engaging with community activities where possible.
- Undertake assessments of need and consider appropriate intervention plans with the support of Therapists within the team.
- To ensure a trauma informed environment within the home at all times.

**Requirements of the Youth Justice Worker**:

- Hold a relevant qualification in Social Work, Probation, youth justice or Youth Work etc.
- At least 2 years’ experience working with young people.
- An understanding of the issues facing young people
- The ability to cope effectively with challenging behaviour
- Good communication and team working skills
- Flexibility to work shifts, including weekends and bank holidays.
- Working knowledge and thorough understanding of the barriers and challenges young people face within the criminal justice system.
- Good Literacy and communication skills, including the ability to chair multi agency meetings and make good quality case recordings
