About the Role

The Workforce Transformation Manager will play a pivotal role in driving strategic change within the Workforce Supply and Transformation function at NHS England. This function brings together various systems to facilitate improvement and innovation in workforce redesign, optimizing the mix of skills and effectiveness through collaboration and partnership working with Integrated Care Systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders within the organization and externally with Integrated Care Systems/Integrated Care Boards, educational institutions, and other essential partners to facilitate the strategic implementation of national and regional priorities, strategies, and policies.
  • Provide dedicated support to workforce transformation projects and deliver a Workforce Transformation Programme that reflects Workforce, Training, and Education Directorate and ICS workforce transformation priorities.
  • Lead projects that require delivering innovative new approaches to education, training, workforce, and employment models.
Main Duties
  • Assist the senior Workforce Transformation team in establishing and maintaining trusted relationships and influential networks with external, senior stakeholders under challenging conditions.
  • Work with senior external stakeholders on complex and contentious issues in a political environment relating to local workforce transformation priorities.

Person Specification
  • Strong understanding of workforce development in healthcare, including workforce transformation approaches, education development, and commissioning.
  • Skilled communicator able to build and maintain stakeholder relationships to support and enable management/development and delivery of plans.
  • Education to master's level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a relevant field.
  • Champion equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) and be proactive as a member of the team and as a line manager (if applicable) in the promotion of equality, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Takes decisions on difficult and contentious issues where there may be more than one course of action.
