About the Role

The NHS England is seeking a highly skilled Workforce Transformation Manager to join their team. This role will be part of the Workforce Supply and Transformation function, which brings together systems to facilitate improvement and innovation in workforce redesign.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with stakeholders within the organisation and externally with Integrated Care Systems/Integrated Care Boards, educational institutions, and other essential partners to facilitate the strategic implementation of national and regional priorities, strategies and policies.
  • Provide dedicated support to workforce transformation projects and deliver a Workforce Transformation Programme that reflects Workforce, Training and Education Directorate and ICS workforce transformation priorities.
  • Lead projects that require innovative new approaches to education, training, workforce, and employment models.
Main Duties
  • Assist the senior Workforce Transformation team in establishing and maintaining trusted relationships and influential networks with external, senior stakeholders under challenging conditions.
  • Work with senior external stakeholders on complex and contentious issues in a political environment relating to local workforce transformation priorities.

Person Specification
  • Strong understanding of workforce development in healthcare to include workforce transformation approaches, education development and commissioning.
  • Skilled communicator able to build and maintain stakeholder relationships to support and enable management / development and delivery of plans.
  • Education to master's level or equivalent level of experience of working at a senior level in a relevant field.
  • Champion equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) and be proactive as a member of the team and as a line manager (if applicable) in the promotion of equality, diversity and inclusion to ensure that EDI is embedded into their working culture, behaviour, values and practice.
  • Takes decisions on difficult and contentious issues where there may be more than one course of action.
