About Anderson Knight, we are a charity dedicated to using football as a powerful tool for positive change. Our mission is to create hope and opportunity for isolated and excluded adults and young people.
Our WorkWe run 60 sessions a week of free, inclusive, and judgement-free football across various locations in the UK. These sessions provide vital support to players facing numerous challenges, including mental health issues, homelessness, long-term unemployment, problem substance use, criminal justice involvement, and seeking asylum.
Our programme focuses on creating a safe space, building trusting relationships, and fostering a sense of belonging among our players. We work tirelessly to combat isolation and exclusion by bringing people together, boosting confidence, and developing supportive communities.
With over 80% of our staff having lived experience of the challenges our players face, we pride ourselves on being a relationship-based organisation that empowers individuals to set and achieve their own goals. Our commitment to personal development has led to remarkable results, with 82% of our players reporting an improvement in their quality of life.
