Support Worker for SEMH Needs

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join our team at St. John's C.E. Primary School. In this role, you will provide 1:1 support to a pupil with selective mutism, focusing on their communication and language development, as well as their social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Provide tailored support to the pupil, using evidence-based strategies to improve their communication and language skills
* Collaborate with the SENCO, class teacher, and other professionals to develop and implement effective intervention plans
* Foster a nurturing and inclusive environment to help the pupil feel safe, supported, and able to participate in all aspects of school life
* Monitor the pupil's progress and maintain detailed records to inform future planning
* Assist the pupil with any personal care or mobility needs, as required
* Promote the pupil's independence and self-care skills

**Requirements:**

* NVQ Level 2 or equivalent qualification in Teaching Assistance or a related field
* Experience working with pupils with SEMH needs and communication difficulties
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to supporting the holistic development of the pupil
* Ability to work collaboratively with the wider school team
