Support Worker for SEMH Students

Location: North West England, Greater Manchester, Wigan
Job Type: Temporary, expected to work Full-Time hours
Salary: £12.90 - £13.50 Per hour
Job Duties:- Support students with social, emotional, and mental health needs
- Assist the teacher in implementing individual education plans
- Provide one-to-one support to students to help them achieve learning outcomes
- Support classroom management and behaviour strategies
- Collaborate with the SENCO and other professionals to create a supportive learning environment
- Minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths
- Experience working with children or young people with SEMH needs
- Understanding of safeguarding procedures
Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
Experience:Experience in a similar role within a school setting
Knowledge and Skills:- Knowledge of SEMH strategies and interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong organisational skills
- First Aid training
- Mental Health First Aid qualification
This role requires a patient and understanding approach. The work is predominantly within a school environment and may involve some outdoor activities.
