Research Assistant / Associate in Climate Compatible Growth (CCG)

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Assistant/Associate to join our team as part of the Climate Compatible Growth (CCG) programme. This exciting research programme involves leading UK universities and KTH Sweden, and is funded by the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO). The programme aims to support investment in sustainable energy and transport systems to meet development priorities in the Global South.

The key responsibilities and duties of this role include:

  • Conducting research on critical material production and supply chains
  • Developing academic and policy writing skills
  • Collaborating with institutions in selected CCG partner countries

The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Engineering or a related field, and possess knowledge and experience in environmental assessment, emissions accounting, and programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, and R. Strong collaboration and communication skills are also essential, as well as the ability to produce and clearly communicate high-quality research outputs.

Appointment at Research Associate level is dependent on having a PhD. Those who have submitted but not yet received their PhD will be appointed at Research Assistant level, which will be amended to Research Associate once the PhD has been awarded.
