About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Sales Representative to join our team at 3M Group. As a Sales Representative for Personal Safety Division, you will have the opportunity to work with our innovative Fall Protection Solutions and make a real impact in the market.

Key Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales and margin targets quarterly, under an annual sales plan.
  • Identify and win opportunities as required under sales plan.
  • Work with end customers to advise and promote 3M Fall Protection Solutions.
  • Manage the sales pipeline with the Distributor network through effective relationships and strong communication.
  • Develop 3M brand loyalty across end customers and Distributors.
  • Ensure accurate communication of product updates and development.
  • Collaborate with 3M technical teams to ensure a high level of on-site support where required.
  • Identify and share leads with 3M colleagues for products/solutions outside core specialism.
  • Develop and maintain market, industry and product knowledge.
  • Collect and disseminate (internally) market trends and competitor activity.
  • Maintain accurate and up to date data within a CRM system and other appropriate systems.
  • Ensure all administration/planning is accurate and completed on time and in full.

Requirements

  • Good standard of education.
  • Strong knowledge of the Fall Protection market is essential.
  • Ability to communicate at all levels of the organization both externally and internally.
  • A self-starter with the ability to work on your own and as part of a team.
  • Strong negotiation skills.
  • Numerate and proficient with analysis and manipulation of data.
  • Proficient in use of IT tools, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills - written and verbal.
  • Competitive & proactive instinct - takes initiative on issues and challenges to find optimum solutions.
  • Tenacious, resilient - ability to navigate through conflict and challenges towards positive outcome, retaining focus and perspective.
  • Able to build excellent customer relationships.
  • Self-motivated & extremely driven.

Desirable Qualifications

  • Have a passion for sales and exceeding targets.
  • Basic knowledge of the related EN standards would be preferable.
  • A knowledge of Horizontal Systems Fall Protection training.

Travel and Location

This is a field-based sales role with an expectation to travel across the territory up to 75%. The sales area is Midlands/Southern UK, and the ideal candidate location is within the defined territory preferably across the South Midlands down towards London.
