Job Title: Branch Business Manager

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and maximizing margins at our branch. You will implement a strong sales and business development culture to support our growth objectives and enhance the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of sales effectiveness, trading profit performance, and gross margin generation at the branch.
  • Play a key role in sales, supporting the execution of our business strategy.
  • Deliver products to meet customer requirements through optimal mix of direct despatch and flexible localised delivery.
  • Execute contracted customer SLAs, focusing on cost saving targets where required.
  • Ensure customer service excellence through all touchpoints in the customer journey.
  • Drive sales performance through active management and coaching of internal sales force and external service calls to top 20 customers.
  • Recover revenue from carriage and manage branch stock in line with supply chain processes.
  • Drive productivity, growth, and profit improvement.
  • Develop and execute sales plans to grow branch house customers.
  • Accountability for branch operations, including local stock profiling, pricing, logistics, and health & safety.
Stakeholders:
  • Work closely with External Sales Team, suppliers, Management team, and wider Rubix group to develop customer accounts.

  • Clear communication and presentation skills, with cultural empathy and emotional awareness to lead a team.

  • Proactive self-starter, comfortable working at pace with an open and inclusive style.
Skills and Experience:
  • Proven track record in B2B, preferably in general management positions, showing operating knowledge of sales and operational development.
  • Management of teams, including recruitment, training, and development, as well as performance management.
  • Previous leadership experience in a customer-centric business.
  • New business planning, development, and implementation to demanding customer requirements.
  • Customer relationship management experience and a strong customer service ethos.
  • Conscientious and disciplined attention to detail, with the proven ability to drive and deliver profitable growth.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with experience of leading sales and operational teams.
