Job Title: Branch Business Manager

As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for driving sales growth and maximizing branch profitability. You will lead the development of a strong sales and business culture within the branch, aligning with our company's growth objectives and enhancing the customer experience.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ownership of sales effectiveness, trading profit performance, and gross margin generation within the branch.
  • Play a pivotal role in sales, supporting the execution of our business strategy and driving sales performance within the branch.
  • Ensure consistent delivery of products to meet customer requirements through optimal mix of direct despatch and flexible localised delivery.
  • Responsible for executing contracted customer SLAs, focusing on achieving cost-saving targets where required.
  • Lead the customer service experience through all key touchpoints in the customer journey, implementing and improving our customer service.
  • Drive sales performance through active management and coaching of the internal sales force, as well as proactive external service calls to top 20 customers.
  • Ensure revenue generation from carriage is recovered.
  • Accountable for stock management in the branch, aligning with supply chain processes and procedures.
  • Drive productivity, growth, and profit improvement.
  • Develop and execute sales plans to grow branch house customers, including sales, margin, and communication strategies.
  • Accountable for branch operations, including local stock profiling, pricing, logistics, and health & safety.
Stakeholders:
  • Work closely with the External Sales Team, suppliers, Management team, and wider Rubix group to maximize customer account development, including proactive development of target customer accounts within the branch.
Competencies Required:
  • Results-focused with a passion for winning, willing to take tough decisions and drive for stretch goals.
  • Clear communication and presentation skills, with cultural empathy and emotional awareness to lead a team in delivering sales targets and operational fulfillment.
  • Naturally customer-focused, with a passion for creating a market-leading proposition and customer experience.
  • A visible and energetic manager who can enthuse and motivate a team, capture hearts and minds, and act as a true ambassador for the business.
  • A proactive self-starter who is comfortable working at pace with an open and inclusive style, active listener with the ability to communicate at all levels within the business.
  • A proven track record in B2B, preferably in general management positions, showing an operating knowledge of both sales and operational development.
  • Management of teams, including recruitment, training, and development, as well as performance management of branch teams.
  • Previous leadership experience in a customer-centric business.
  • New business planning, development, and implementation to demanding customer requirements.
  • Customer relationship management experience and a strong customer service ethos.
  • A conscientious and disciplined attention to detail with the proven ability to drive and deliver profitable growth.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal and communication skills, along with experience of leading sales and operational teams.
  • An individual who will gain credibility and win respect across the organization.
  • Process awareness and system skills.
  • Confidence with a drive to challenge and develop performance to the next level.
