About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Senior/Supervising Social Worker to join our team at Foster Care Associates, a leading independent fostering agency within the Polaris Community. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting foster parents and their families to achieve outstanding outcomes for children and young people in foster care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support foster parents and their families to provide a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment for children and young people.
  • Monitor the suitability and competence of foster parents, ensuring they meet the required standards and competencies.
  • Provide regular supervision to foster parents, working in partnership to identify needs and develop strategies to support them.
  • Collaborate with the referral team to ensure seamless support for children and young people entering foster care.
  • Participate in an out-of-hours support service and day duty system to provide 24/7 support to foster families.
  • Undertake initial home visits and Form F Assessments to ensure the suitability of foster placements.
Requirements
  • A Social Work qualification and professional registration with Social Work England or equivalent.
  • Proven ability to produce high-quality report writing and a comprehensive understanding of relevant legislation and child safeguarding procedures.
  • Full driving license and willingness to travel extensively, including occasional nights away.
  • Confidence in transporting children and young people in challenging situations.
