About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Family Assessment Specialist to join our team in South Yorkshire. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for conducting thorough and effective child and family assessments, ensuring the identification of risks and needs, and developing appropriate interventions to promote positive outcomes.

Main Responsibilities
  • Assessment and Intervention
    • Conduct comprehensive child and family assessments, gathering and analysing information from multiple sources to identify risks and needs.
    • Develop and implement interventions to address identified risks and needs, working closely with children, young people, and families to ensure their involvement and engagement.
  • Safeguarding and Risk Management
    • Implement and maintain effective safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring the protection of children, young people, and vulnerable adults.
    • Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring the safe and effective delivery of child and family assessments and interventions.
  • Collaboration and Partnership Working
    • Develop and maintain partnerships with external agencies, ensuring effective collaboration and coordination of child and family assessments and interventions.
    • Represent the organisation in external forums, promoting the value and contribution of child and family assessment services.
  • Professional Development
    • Develop and deliver training and development programmes for social workers, enhancing their skills and knowledge in key areas such as assessment, intervention, and risk management.
    • Contribute to the development of organisational policies and procedures, ensuring they are informed by best practice and research evidence.
    Requirements
    • Degree in Social Work and current registration with the relevant regulatory body.
    • Extensive experience in conducting child and family assessments and developing interventions.
    • Expertise in safeguarding, risk management, and partnership working.
    • Strong assessment, intervention, and communication skills.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of legal, regulatory, and statutory frameworks in social work practice.
