Neonatal Staff Nurse

We are seeking an experienced Neonatal Staff Nurse to join our multidisciplinary team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to newborn babies and their families in our special care, high dependency, and intensive care nursery.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate neonatal nursing care on a shift-by-shift basis, ensuring that fundamental needs for individual babies and parents are met.
- Ensure the safe dispensation of drugs, maintaining knowledge of side effects and other contra-indications.
- Coordinate the effective admission, transfer, and discharge of individual children in line with Trust policy.
- Discuss options and support parents in making informed choices in their plan of care.
- Adhere to the Trust's safeguarding policies and procedures, ensuring that knowledge and practice enable children to be safeguarded.
- Promote the importance of modifying the environment, taking into account the individual developmental needs of the infant.
- Work with the team to participate and respond to suggestions and complaints, evaluate patient and carer experience, and make recommendations to improve services.
- Promote and actively participate in the Trust and Children's Services Nursing Strategy.
Essential
- NMC registration
- Willingness to undertake Neonatal qualification if not already held

- FLAP or equivalent
- Neonatal experience
- Level 3 safeguarding children
