Job Title: Neonatal Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Nurse Specialist to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Perinatal Excellence team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to newborns and their families.

About the Role

As a Neonatal Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for leading the nursing team and ensuring that babies and their parents receive the best possible care. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care, from special care to intensive care. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives, participating in audit and research, and mentoring junior staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the nursing team and ensure high-quality care is delivered to babies and their parents
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care
  • Participate in audit and research to inform best practice
  • Mentor junior staff to develop their skills and knowledge
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
Person Specification
  • Current NMC Registration
  • FLAP or equivalent
  • Qualified in Specialty
  • NALS
  • Degree or equivalent training and experience (RCN/Diploma in Child Health or RGN)
  • Level 3 safeguarding children
