Job Title: Neonatal Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Neonatal Nurse Specialist to join our team at Great Western Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Perinatal Excellence team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality care to newborns and their families.

About the Role

As a Neonatal Nurse Specialist, you will be responsible for leading the nursing team and ensuring that babies and their parents receive the best possible care. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care, from special care to intensive care. Your expertise will be essential in developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives, participating in audit and research, and promoting best practice in neonatal care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the nursing team and ensure that babies and their parents receive high-quality care
  • Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes
  • Participate in audit and research to inform best practice in neonatal care
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to provide comprehensive care
  • Develop and maintain expertise in neonatal care, including special care and intensive care
Person Specification
  • Current NMC Registration
  • FLAP or equivalent
  • Qualified in Specialty
  • NALS
  • Degree or equivalent training and experience (RCN/Diploma in Child Health or RGN)
  • Level 3 safeguarding children
