Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Estimator to join our team in Murray, responsible for cost estimation, tender preparation, project evaluation, subcontractor management, risk management, collaboration, client engagement, market research, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cost Estimation: Prepare accurate cost estimates for water-related projects, utilizing industry knowledge and technical expertise.
  • Tender Preparation: Lead pricing of tenders and bid submissions, ensuring compliance with project specifications and requirements.
  • Project Evaluation: Assess project plans, specifications, and requirements, identifying potential risks and providing solutions.
  • Subcontractor Management: Obtain and analyze subcontractor quotes, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to ensure project success.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with project managers, engineers, and the procurement team to achieve project goals.
  • Client Engagement: Engage with clients to clarify project specifications, ensuring seamless communication and expectations alignment.
  • Market Research: Stay updated on industry trends and market conditions, leveraging this knowledge to drive business growth.
  • Documentation: Maintain clear records of estimates and pricing strategies, ensuring transparency and accountability.

Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum 5 years as an Estimator, preferably in the water or utilities sector.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of water infrastructure projects, including design, construction, and maintenance.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in estimating software and MS Office applications, with experience in data analysis and reporting.
  • Analytical Skills: Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications, identifying potential issues and opportunities.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with experience in presenting complex information to stakeholders.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy and efficiency in all tasks.
  • Qualifications: Degree or diploma in quantity surveying, civil, mechanical, or electrical engineering, or a related field.
