Job Summary:

The Technical Operations Manager at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of all aspects of the facility, enabling it to fulfill its mission of supporting research and development in medical technology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research and identify potential members, conduct facility tours, and plan clients' use of the facilities.
  • Work with members, potential members, and other users to maximize the effectiveness of facility use, requiring in-depth knowledge of equipment capabilities and healthcare areas being studied.
  • Facilitate collaborations between clients and WPI faculty and students.
  • Maintain oversight of facilities regarding maintenance and upgrades to meet the needs of WPI researchers and external members.
  • Oversee access to all facility areas, manage facility scheduling, and set charge rates for internal and external users.
  • Obtain and maintain training credentials and approvals for operating all PracticePoint equipment, including the MRI, fluoroscope, and lasers, and machine shops, as well as credentials for training other users and operators.
  • Oversee the delivery and use of hazardous materials, maintain currency with safety standards and regulatory requirements, and coordinate with the Environmental Health and Safety Office and relevant committees.

Requirements:

  • Graduate Degree
  • 1 or more years' hands-on experience with MRI operations
  • 2 or more years' experience in a similar role
