We are currently seeking an Administrative Support Professional to join our team at Brook Street, supporting the Ministry of Justice. The role will involve working as part of a flexible team in a dynamic environment.

This is a temporary position with the possibility of further extension based on business requirements. We offer a competitive salary for this role, estimated to be around £11,440 per annum, depending on location and experience.

The ideal candidate will have strong administrative skills and recent customer service experience. They should be able to work effectively as a first point of contact for court users, handling various tasks efficiently and professionally.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Court Clerk Duties: Obtain names of all parties in attendance and show them into hearings at the required time.
  • Maintaining Order: Call members of the public into court, ensuring timely and respectful management of proceedings.
  • Supply Management: Maintain supplies for court users and complete court recording sheets accurately.
  • Communication Skills: Pass on important information to all concerned promptly and clearly, using tact and honesty.
  • Room Maintenance: Keep Court room and hearing rooms tidy and well managed.
  • Evidence Handling: Label evidence and pass it to the judge and jury, maintaining confidentiality when necessary.

Requirements:

  • IT Proficiency: Basic IT skills in Microsoft Packages, with training provided if needed.
  • Admin Experience: Strong recent admin/customer service experience.
  • Patient Communication: Remain calm, polite, and tactful when dealing with difficult people.
  • Vigilance: Display vigilance and a professional personality at all times.
  • Approachability: Be approachable, non-judgmental, and honest, respecting confidences when interacting with others.
